5 Strategies That Will Help You, Create, and Publish Engaging Content Consistently

The fastest way to grow an audience
Over the past 10 years, I’ve gone from writing notes, and personal anecdotes about my dad to creating content on multiple platforms, that earns me a decent side income.
What most people don’t know?
I typically use the same strategies, to create content every time.
👇
Strategy #1: Stay true to yourself.
What’s the fastest way to grow an audience?
When it comes to writing online, be genuine and write about what you know. Don’t try to be someone else or emulate another writer’s style. People can tell when you’re faking it, and they won’t stick around for long.
Instead, focus on writing what you’re interested in and what you know best. Share your unique perspective and offer insights that are valuable to your readers. As you continue to write, your audience will grow.
Stay true to yourself and your authentic voice, and you’ll be successful.
Be you, while helping others.
Success here 100% comes down to:
• Find your why
• Find out what your audience needs
• Create content that will help them (learn/grow/etc.)
Strategy #2: Repurpose content in multiple formats
This is the formula I use over and over again:
“idea + authenticity = engaging content”
You can use this to create different types of content from one main idea:
• Twitter Thread
• Blog Post or Article
• Podcast or Video
Blog post: Write a blog post around the main idea, and include lots of authentic examples to help illustrate your points.
Podcast: Do a podcast episode where you talk in-depth about the main idea. This is a great format for showing off your personality and engaging with listeners.
Video: Create a short video explaining the main idea. This is a great way to reach a wider audience who may not be interested in reading a blog post or listening to a podcast.
Infographic: Turn the main idea into an infographic, which can be easily shared and consumed by readers.
Research paper: If you’re feeling really ambitious, you could write a research paper on the main idea. This is a great way to show off your expertise in the topic.
The bottom line is that you can use the same main idea to create content in multiple formats, which will help you reach more people and grow your audience. Be sure to stay authentic and engaging throughout, and you’ll be on your way to creating great content that people will love.
Strategy #3: Hit Publish
People who succeed at writing online publish fearlessly.
So, here are a few easy ways you can do that.
• Get over yourself (we’re all in this together)
• Remember, everyone has to start somewhere
• The only way to get better is through practice
Put your work out there to grow. Don’t worry about finding an audience initially. Just get your work in front of people who will give you honest feedback. As you continue to produce content, that audience will grow.
Use social media to connect with other creators. Twitter and other social media platforms are great for connecting with other creators. Find people who share your interests, and start a conversation. Not only will you get great feedback, but you’ll also build relationships that can help you in the future.
Take advantage of online communities. There are dozens of online communities catering to content creators of all kinds (FYI — Medium is one of my favorites). From writing communities to photography groups, there’s a place for you to share your work and get feedback.
Don’t be afraid to start your own blog or website. If you want complete control over your content, starting your own blog or website is a great option. This gives you the opportunity to connect with an audience directly, and build a community around your work. You can even use a custom domain on your Medium publication — to leverage the reach of active users coming to read, write, share, and support one another every day.
Be open to feedback. No one is perfect, and that includes content creators. Be open to feedback from your audience, and use it to improve your work. Not everyone will have something nice to say, but try not to get discouraged. Constructive feedback is a great way to strengthen your skills.
Publishing your work online can be daunting, but it’s also a great way to grow and connect with other creators. By using these tips, you can publish fearlessly and see success.
Strategy #4: Adapt to change
The people who master their craft know something 99% of people don’t.
The world is constantly changing, and we’ve all got to keep up.
The more open-minded you are to trying new things, (think starting your newsletter, video, web3) = more opportunity.
Strategy #5: Be consistent.
Finally, this is the most important strategy of all.
All successful creators will tell you:
Play the long game.
In order to do this, you must:
• Work for little to no $(at first)
• Show up every day
• ABC (Always Be Creating)
It’ll be worth it.
TL;DR — 5 Strategies that will help you, create, and publish engaging content consistently.
• Stay true to yourself
• Repurpose content
• Hit publish
• Adapt to change
• Be consistent
